About Tops’ Cottage
Located at the top of a curving row of 140 year-old three-storey fishermen’s dwellings, Tops’ Cottage has been named after one of its previous residents, a village fisherman nicknamed Tops.
The present owner has lovingly restored the cottage, including building in two flights of modern stairs and two new floors, while retaining the original character. Tops’ Cottage now provides all the modern amenities you would expect including electric heating throughout and fibre-optic broadband.
Step inside from street level and you will find a cosy sitting room enhanced by a wood burner style electric stove set in the old granite beamed fireplace. Snuggle down on the cosy sofa or head upstairs to the beautifully designed, romantic bedroom with its stylish en-suite wash-room with its large walk-in shower.
Downstairs, the well equipped kitchen provides everything needed for home cooking and dining. The kitchen opens onto a small sunny patio providing an outdoor space for relaxing or alfresco meals. A small cloakroom is attached to the kitchen.
Based at Tops’ Cottage, there are ample opportunities for an active holiday or one in which you can relax, soak up the refreshing local atmosphere and watch the world go by. A short stroll will bring you down to the village centre and the harbour where you will find restaurants, cafes, pubs, gift shops and the Shipyard Market. The South West Coast Path runs all around the harbour and provides easy access to local beaches and the nearby National Trust Penrose Estate.

Stunning cottage, complete with high spec fittings and furnishings and brilliant communication from the owner. Porthleven has a great choice of pubs, bars, restaurants and independent traders. A traditional Cornish fishing village. Blessed with a wonderful beach and costal paths.
Thank you for your helpfulness regarding parking my bike in the back yard, which worked very well. We are very impressed with the great work you have done in converting the cottage and appreciated your documenting the work. We certainly hope to be back. We have stayed in other places in Porthleven but this is our favourite.

Tops Cottage was a really nice place to stay, the work to the internal updating was first class and the furnishings good and comfortable.
We've stayed in lots of cottages in Porthleven, mainly on sea-front. This is out first time in the 'village' and we loved it! Beautiful cottage, you can just see the sea from the bedroom window. Thank you for the chocolate, wine, milk etc

We had a very good stay in Top's Cottage, which has been beautifully converted, equipped and furnished.
Another great holiday in Porthleven and our second stay in Tops’ Cottage! The cottage has all the amenities you would need and is only a stone’s throw away from the harbour. The owner is really helpful and accommodating - we would definitely return again.
